Caltrans District 7- VEN 23 Pavement Rehabilitation Project

This is a major roadway rehab project. The Project is located in Ventura County, through Cities of Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley.

The SR-23 Project replaces pavement on the outer two lanes from U.S. 101 to State Route 118 to provide a service life of 40 years. The on- and off-ramps, connectors and adjacent shoulders also will be rehabilitated, and slabs will be replaced on the inner lane in both directions where needed. Existing curbs ramps will be upgraded where necessary (36 locations) to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and approach slabs and bridge rails will be replaced at select locations (five locations). The performance measures for this project are 46.7 lane miles.

Project Scope:

The project is a major rehabilitation roadway in urban area. The project stretches46.7 miles lanes in various cities. The challenges are to work in two major shifts with multi-stage construction. The AMC staff & Caltrans are working as an excellent team with City of Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley and Ventura County to plan the work with least impact to residents, businesses and travelling public.
